About my ratings

Perhaps because of my day job, I'm a tough rater. Everything 3/5 and above I consider worth the time and money. If I purchase on Etsy or a similar platform and the puzzle is as expected, I will give a top rating on the platform because of how seller ratings work, but here "as expected" is probably a 3/5 in most cases.

Renaissance

Sparrow Puzzles, 300 pieces. I think this maker is one of the ones knocked off on eBay, even though it's a smaller producer. The eBay economy is a mystery to me. Anyway, this Etsy seller produces a Wentworth-like puzzle in thinness and engraved whimsies. Reasonably difficult for its size because the colors were spread throughout the puzzle with small variations. Some feathers were almost color-line-cut. 3/5

Owl

Hodslen Woods, 150 pieces. Slightly larger than usual for this type of puzzle; nicely colored; the tube it came in was too big for my tastes, but I liked that it had a wood medallion of the puzzle image. I suppose you could hang it on a tree? 3/5
Why is this picture upside down? Apple or Google knows.

Fra Angelico Filippo Lippi, Adoration of the Magi

Artifact, 208 pieces. Nice small puzzle with some whimsies that complement the round shape as well as the expected religious themes, including 3D elements. 3/5

Heironymous Bosch, Beasts from the Garden of Earthly Delights

Nautilus, 500 pieces. Nautilus didn't stint on the whimsies for this image, basically animals and flowering plants/leaves, a couple of them multi-piece. 3/5

Iwona Lifsches, Merry Christmas

Artifact, 242 pieces. Smallish, colorful puzzle with seasonal themed whimsies. 3/5

Zodiac Horoscope

Woodbests, 343 pieces. So far, Woodbests has been decent for the price; a little dark, which likely hides some burning of the image, but here the zodiac-themed whimsies are a cut above (sorry) the usual for this price point. 3/5

Karla Gerard, Night Village

Artifact, 164 pieces. Small but colorful example of Gerard's work. 3/5

Witch's Cove

Lucretia's Pieces, 258 pieces. A puzzlemaker I like a lot despite not having much experience with it! Approaching Stave in quality with whimsies that nicely reflect the image. 6/10 Stave scale

Sailing to the Tunes, Sana Folk Art

Wentworth, 500 pieces. A nice, colorful image for a Wentworth. 3/5

Karla Gerard, Lively Landscape

Artifact, 221 pieces. Colorful, smallish puzzle with the usual domestic whimsies. 3/5

Eugene Allon Seguy, Papillons 3

Puzzlewood, 193 pieces. Lots of negative space here, making for some extra difficulty. 6/10 Stave scale; never fails to impress me how she can get the connectors so tiny without making them easy to snap off.

Leap Frogs

Stave, retired Teaser, 2/3 swords. This one had tight fitting pieces, but not so tight that it was impossible to distinguish a correct fit from a bad one. 6/10 charming, assemblable without the frame.

Sparrows

S-Mark Legpuzzel, 86 pieces. Wow! Like Granny Nanny, imageless and near-random piece shapes with some dropouts to make things even harder; here the irregular edges make this very hard, especially with the struggle to figure out which side is which. 5/5

Katshusika Hokusai Wave

Artifact/Ecru, 327 pieces. A pretty hard puzzle, consistent with the Ecru line. 3/5

Jungle Jaguar, Catalina Estrada

Wentworth, 500 pieces. Very nice colors and repeating images, plus lots of cat whimsies--what's not to like? 3/5

Elephant Zentangle

Liminal, 94 pieces. Another in the series of hard-for-their-size, color-it-yourself puzzles. A nice treat. 3/5

I think these are the only interacting whimsies in the series
