About my ratings

Perhaps because of my day job, I'm a tough rater. Everything 3/5 and above I consider worth the time and money. If I purchase on Etsy or a similar platform and the puzzle is as expected, I will give a top rating on the platform because of how seller ratings work, but here "as expected" is probably a 3/5 in most cases.

Jane Newland, Present Delivery

Wentworth, 250 pieces. Standard Wentworth with a nice cool palette. 3/5

Meditative Lines, Eduard-ArtBeat Studios

Wentworth, 272 pieces. This extra difficult cut was a little less fun than the previous one because the nature of the repeating cut created a lattice that made the six-pointed pieces push-fit/made them mostly useful to fit in once the lattice was constructed. 3/5

Petals of Colour, Sarah Cunningham

Wentworth, 252 pieces. Extra-difficult cut--fun because despite the color repetition there was almost always clarity about what went where. 3/5

Tiered Treats, Aimee Stewart

Wentworth, 210 pieces. Charming colors in this irregular-edge puzzle. 3/5

Cosy Snowman, Wendy Edelson

Wentworth, 500 pieces. Another perfectly solid Wentworth; at some point I hope to try more of the new cut pattern for contrast. 3/5

Cat Bookshelf, Randal Spangler

Wentworth, 500 pieces. I'm a sucker for cat puzzles, and adding books creates areas of color that still managed to have some difficulty at the margins. 3/5

Fierce Florals

Wentworth, 250 pieces. This is the first Wentworth free-form/new thickness I've done, and I do think it's a step up for them, if not quite Liberty-grade. 3/5

Park Güell di Gaudí, Barcelona, Ana Maria Edulescu

Wentworth, 1000 pieces. So, 1000 pieces is generally too much Wentworth for me, but the picture was so beautiful I put it on my Hoefnagel list anyway. Ultimate reaction: yes, 1000 pieces is still too much Wentworth for me, but the picture was quite beautiful, and this is a style that does reward the jigsaw process, as you see how colors are echoed throughout in ways that work differently on the eye after full assembly. 3/5

Steve Skelton, Getting Away from It All

Wentworth, 250 pieces. A standard Wentworth; the pleasure comes from the tiny details, often only as big as one or two pieces, which then complicates assembly. 3/5

New York City Lady, Kirsten Ulve

Wentworth, 500 pieces. A nice image with generally appropriate whimsies. 3/5

Lazy Reads, Keiti

Wentworth, 230 pieces. Cat-themed book image with irregular edges. 3/5

The Victorians, Myths and Legends/Hokusai, The Great Wave Off Kanagawa

Wentworth, 250 pieces. An older Wentworth, where the whimsies were much mushier/less well defined and more reminiscent of hand-cut--this is an example of the form developing over time towards the affordances of laser. It was a nice change of pace. 3/5

Wentworth, 250 pieces: Somewhat more modern, but more two-piece whimsies than I think a current Wentworth would have.
