About my ratings

Perhaps because of my day job, I'm a tough rater. Everything 3/5 and above I consider worth the time and money. If I purchase on Etsy or a similar platform and the puzzle is as expected, I will give a top rating on the platform because of how seller ratings work, but here "as expected" is probably a 3/5 in most cases.

Feared Kraken

Jigsawow, 160 pieces. Good for its type; I like that the whimsies differ across puzzles, except for the JW whimsies. 3/5

Great Bengal

Jigsawow, 170 pieces. I'm a sucker for big cats. And here's a multi-part whimsy (the Taj Mahal, below). 3/5

multi-piece monkey (not sure tail really needed to be separate)

Spirited Fox

Jigsawow, 195 pieces. Another puzzle with irregular edges and a color theme for the animal face depicted--I like them fine. 3/5

Rogue Rhino

Jigsawow, 210 pieces. This brand has been pretty consistent so far: small pieces, themed whimsies, irregular edges with some color contrast. 3/5

Splendid Elephant

Jigsawow, 200 pieces. I really appreciate the explosion of new cutters even though I mourn the circumstances under which it came about. Jigsawow is on Amazon and made in the USA, but follows the general look and feel of the Russian/Eastern European laser cutters that have exploded of late--small pieces and colorful irregular-edge animal images. I liked this one a bit better than most of the others; it had less laser etching of the whimsies and thus was more about assembly of the larger picture. 3/5
