About my ratings

Perhaps because of my day job, I'm a tough rater. Everything 3/5 and above I consider worth the time and money. If I purchase on Etsy or a similar platform and the puzzle is as expected, I will give a top rating on the platform because of how seller ratings work, but here "as expected" is probably a 3/5 in most cases.

Birds in a Tree, Rebecca Cool

Mr. Bob, 525 pieces. At this point you know what you're going to get from Mr. Bob: relatively large pieces, a certain number of whimsies, colorful pictures. This is that! 3/5

Reef Fantasy, Johanna Hildebrandt

Mr. Bob, 525 pieces. A nice image with an easy part up top and more complex below. 3/5

Sue Janson, Mum There's a Cow in the Yard

Mr. Bob, 252 pieces. Big pieces; the kangaroo whimsy is vulnerable to damage because of the spiky bits, which is a shame. 3/5

Six Seasons Collage, Kevin Binder

Mr. Bob, 175 pieces. Like some other makers, Mr. Bob puzzles in small piece counts have very big pieces, making for a relatively large puzzle. This is also a fairly easy build because of the color areas. 3/5

Noongar Seasons Bunuru / Noongar Seasons Birak

Mr. Bob, both 252 pieces. The general puzzling experience for all six of these is basically the same, since the Mr. Bob cut is relatively simple and the whimsies are mostly repeats. That being said, the colors are nice and the feel of the pieces is good (the kangaroo whimsy is very vulnerable because it has tiny protrusions) so I enjoyed doing all six, ultimately. Bunuru is the one with the lizard and Birak the snake. 3/5 both

Noongar, Djilba--Five of Six, Kevin Bynder

Mr. Bob, 252 pieces. Another good example of the type, with a few more whimsies than the other one I just did. 3/5

Noongar, Makuru--Four of Six, Kevin Bynder

Mr. Bob, 252 pieces. A good size for this cutter, with standard Australian-themed whimsies and a colorful image. 3/5

Kambarang, Six of Six, Kevin Bynder

Mr. Bob, 525 pieces. Also a very nice image, though I think larger than my sweet spot for this type of puzzle. 3/5

Djeran: Three of Six, Kevin Bynder

Mr. Bob, 252 pieces. My favorite Mr. Bob so far: a good size, a nice image. I wish I'd gotten the eucalyptus scent now that I now how good it smells with natural wood. 4/5

Beach Bums, Louise Farnay

Mr. Bob, 101 pieces. Eucalyptus scented, and I was dubious but it is delightful--a great complement to the usual wood smell of laser-cut wood. Mr. Bob piece sizes change substantially depending on the number of pieces, so these are quite large relatively speaking. 3/5

Rebecca Cool, Rebecca's Collage

Mr. Bob. Quite difficult because of the size. Traditional strip-cut-like with occasional whimsies. 3/5

Jim Tsinganos, Passion

Mr. Bob, 651 pieces. Sturdy, relatively thick pieces, some basic whimsies. The charm comes from the letters spelling out PASSION, and then there's a fair amount of blue sky though there are a couple of things flying around in the sky on closer inspection that mean more variety than you might initially think. 3/5

Liam Grant, Organized Chaos

Mr. Bob Puzzles, 525 pieces. Australian laser-cut; very thick pieces, mostly traditional cut with some whimsies. Extremely difficult image because of subtle variations and similar colors throughout. 3/5
