About my ratings

Perhaps because of my day job, I'm a tough rater. Everything 3/5 and above I consider worth the time and money. If I purchase on Etsy or a similar platform and the puzzle is as expected, I will give a top rating on the platform because of how seller ratings work, but here "as expected" is probably a 3/5 in most cases.

Liebig Meat Treats

Puzzlewood, 484 pieces. The multi-level image has birds & flowers instead of meat! The 3D effect is really impressive--I am imagining how it was achieved but I don't really know. I took a few angled pictures to better show the effect. Unfortunately, the connectors are so small that it's basically the same as push-fit a lot of the way through. Rewards patience. 4/5

Jane Newland, Present Delivery

Wentworth, 250 pieces. Standard Wentworth with a nice cool palette. 3/5

Tim Zeltner, Russian Christmas Tree

Boardwalk, 163 pieces. Shaped edges for a little difficulty. 3/5

Radiant Neon

Gemturt, 300 pieces (the Hoefnagel website says "unknown" but this is pretty clearly the same cut as the previous Gemturt I did). Despite the same cut, the randomness of the cuts combined with the different image made this a different, albeit still steady, experience. 3/5

Flowers

Gemturt, 300 pieces. The random cut style works well with the abstract image for steady assembly. 3/5

Whistler

Peachblossom Puzzles, approx 150 pieces. Hand-cut; slightly rougher wood than ideal but certainly worth the time, with nice snowflake whimsies and some color line cutting. 3/5

Summer Bubbles, Robert Delaunay

Chestnut & Hemlock, 260 pieces. Technically very impressive because the puzzle-in-the-puzzle uses color so interestingly on the figures. (Although Chestnut & Hemlock began as hand cut, I think this is laser-cut to produce the double puzzle.) 4/5

Jungle Waterfall

Stave, 530 pieces. Lots of detail here; I liked that the flamingoes were in multiple places although it sometimes complicated matters. 7/10

love the multipiece lion

rebus: And+eye+mule ant+tack+S = animal antics (possibly animal attacks but that seems violent)

dueling giraffes

Night Lights, Andy Russell

Elms, 585 pieces. Lots of color here; steady assembly. 6/10

Haven of Halos, Dee Rogers

Nonie Made Me, 67 pieces. Fun Teaser-style puzzle, relatively simple. 4/5

Joe Vaux, Bad Apples

Artifact, 446 pieces. An interesting cut pattern that said puddles more than apples to me. 3/5

Mayan Transformation, Bo Newell

Elms, 318 pieces. Busy image with lots of detail and animal whimsies. 6/10
