About my ratings

Perhaps because of my day job, I'm a tough rater. Everything 3/5 and above I consider worth the time and money. If I purchase on Etsy or a similar platform and the puzzle is as expected, I will give a top rating on the platform because of how seller ratings work, but here "as expected" is probably a 3/5 in most cases.

Venice Canal

 Whimsy Wood Puzzles, 500 pieces. I haven't always been super fond of this maker, despite some interesting cuts and images, but this one really shows craft and ingenuity. The border full of dropouts works almost like a Teaser puzzle, since things that look like connectors often fit in only half the space you imagine they'd take up, making fitting the border together a challenge--one I liked a lot. 4/5

    I'd like to try their gearwork open border cut at some point, but the image selections are not currently inspiring me.

      Yeah, this wasn't an image I would have chosen affirmatively, but I really did like the cut.
