About my ratings

Perhaps because of my day job, I'm a tough rater. Everything 3/5 and above I consider worth the time and money. If I purchase on Etsy or a similar platform and the puzzle is as expected, I will give a top rating on the platform because of how seller ratings work, but here "as expected" is probably a 3/5 in most cases.

Beauty and the Beast

Stave, 345 pieces. An unusual image--the Beast is basically indistinguishable from background before the whole thing is assembled, and the border is elaborate in the best way. 6/10

The Southern Sun, Helen Dryden

Inside Adventure, 571 pieces. OK, I'll call it: not as much fun in MDF as in the previous wood. Still, very clever themed whimsy design with a lot going on. Some tiny dropout pieces as a result, so if that's a deal-breaker, stay away; otherwise, the price is reasonable. 3/5

love the banana and it's even opened from the appropriate end

the summer cooler is interesting

disturbingly disproportionate pigeon

the poodle seems only partial--created by the head, limbs and tail, but not fully outlined in pieces

disproportionately large duck

Nes Gadol Haya Sham

Enigma, 212 pieces. Rare Judaica, very delicately hand-cut (connectors are occasionally small and probably wouldn't stand up to rough handling, but are certainly more than little points). 4/5

mostly color line cut

Syunsyo

Stave, 625 pieces. What a beautiful image! Just a stunning Traditional, with lots of bright color and steady assembly as the flowers distinguish themselves. 8/10

Angel Fish, Herb Schwartz

Waterford, 265 pieces. Tricky because of the busy image where many things are small enough to fit in one or two pieces, so it's hard to get a full area at first. 6/10

some of the whimsies, including angels

another one-handed pickup

Odilon Redon, Butterflies

Inside Adventure, 602 pieces. I think they've changed the wood, which is a bit sad, but the image was elaborate and there were nice multi-piece whimsies. 3/5

a little hard to see but it's a butterfly in profile along the bottom curving up to the top right

Meguro Drum Bridge and Sunset Hill, Utagawa Hiroshige

Sr. B Puzzles Workshop, 548 pieces. Small pieces and consistent cutting style plus large areas of similar color make this a difficult puzzle to assemble, giving you time to appreciate the image. The bonus puzzle is a famous image as well. 4/5
