About my ratings

Perhaps because of my day job, I'm a tough rater. Everything 3/5 and above I consider worth the time and money. If I purchase on Etsy or a similar platform and the puzzle is as expected, I will give a top rating on the platform because of how seller ratings work, but here "as expected" is probably a 3/5 in most cases.

Amazing Mayhem in the Maze in May, John Dyer

Silverton Puzzle Co., 300 pieces. According to the Jigasaurus, Silverton was an early 2000s UK cutter no longer in existence. It's a perfectly nice laser-cut puzzle with a fun image. 3/5 (NB: I bought this from a UK seller who listed it as hand-cut. Ordinarily I rate sellers on sales sites with five-star feedback for delivering what it says on the tin; my ratings here on this blog are lower because they're relative and 3/5 is "what it says on the tin; good way to pass the time." This time I gave neutral feedback on eBay because the listing was erroneous. The seller has doubled down, claiming that I don't know what I'm talking about because there are no scorch marks on the wood. If you read this blog, you probably know that's not diagnostic and that laser-cut and hand-cut produce easily distinguishable results even at the high end like Fathom, Hidden Piece, and Liberty. I am annoyed! Anyway, if you're looking for modern jigsaws and have never heard of a purported hand-cutter before, don't be like me--check Jigasaurus first!)
