About my ratings

Perhaps because of my day job, I'm a tough rater. Everything 3/5 and above I consider worth the time and money. If I purchase on Etsy or a similar platform and the puzzle is as expected, I will give a top rating on the platform because of how seller ratings work, but here "as expected" is probably a 3/5 in most cases.

Chef

Padma Puzzles, 227 pieces. Really leans into "themed, shaped connectors," with the thinner wood associated with the substantial entry into the market after 2020. In a nice touch, the connectors are mirrored by larger, sometimes multi-piece, whimsies.

A pot!

Better look at some of the connectors

Jonathan Araujo, Toucans

Artifact, 386 pieces. Nicely colorful image with repeated areas of color that gave it a bit of challenge. The whimsies merited a few pictures of the back! 3/5

darn it, Google

I like the soccer-playing kid

Catch & Release

Misfit Creations, 68 pieces, from a design by Dee Rogers. Again, what an amazing contribution to the community! I liked this one because of the bubbly cut, which made for a fun Teaser-style puzzle. 4/5

Gustav Klimt, Lady with Fan

Artifact, 161 pieces. Swirly cut adds enough difficulty to the image to compensate for its small size. 3/5

poodle!

Fan-cy Feet

Stave, 255 pieces. Just a pure delight of a Teaser with lots of color and different places to stash the teaser pieces. 8/10

Fan, dancer

Picasso's Studio, Damian Elwes

Liberty, 527 pieces. I wouldn't say this has an alternate solution as much as there's a picture of the artist picked out with brush-stroke-like pieces (which then are a bit push-fitty for my taste), but it's clearly a carefully thought out set of whimsies to evoke Picasso's style. 3/5

Olga Suvarova, Chess

 Puzzlewood, 492 pieces. Some push-fit/color-line cutting for difficulty--it's a beautiful image. 3/5
