About my ratings

Perhaps because of my day job, I'm a tough rater. Everything 3/5 and above I consider worth the time and money. If I purchase on Etsy or a similar platform and the puzzle is as expected, I will give a top rating on the platform because of how seller ratings work, but here "as expected" is probably a 3/5 in most cases.

The Polar Express

Mosaic, 250 pieces. Lots of themed whimsies here! Forgot to take pictures of the pieces but too lots of the back. 3/5

Natural Habitat Adventures

Liberty, 486 pieces. This was apparently a custom or commissioned puzzle, which may explain the otherwise rather surprising whimsies that are more Western than polar. Lots of areas of similar color! 3/5

The Christmas Library

Mosaic, 250 pieces. There was enough color crossover among different sections that it wasn't particularly easy; a perfectly good puzzle. 3/5

Colorful Tiger

Goldbird Puzzles, 200 pieces. New maker to me (laser-cut, "designed in Paris" and made in China). I really enjoy the geometric cut style; I didn't love the huge box--I actually got rid of it to make more room--but it does come with a frame, if you like that kind of thing. I didn't test the magnetic feature of the pieces (seems a little awkward insofar as it would make it harder to move the pieces around if you actually did it on a magnetic frame). 3/5

The Sweet Life

Stave, 380 pieces. This is a lovely rental from Stave, with lots of color. 7/10

Can + D crow+shhh = candy crush?

Green Cat

Puzzlapy, 109 pieces. Another colorful treat! Multipiece whimsies enhance this one. 3/5

Steve Skelton, Getting Away from It All

Wentworth, 250 pieces. A standard Wentworth; the pleasure comes from the tiny details, often only as big as one or two pieces, which then complicates assembly. 3/5
