About my ratings

Perhaps because of my day job, I'm a tough rater. Everything 3/5 and above I consider worth the time and money. If I purchase on Etsy or a similar platform and the puzzle is as expected, I will give a top rating on the platform because of how seller ratings work, but here "as expected" is probably a 3/5 in most cases.

Festive Harbour

Lucretia's Pieces, 415 pieces. The image kept up its interest throughout, with areas of greater and lesser detail. 6/10

Toe to Toe

Stave, 60 pieces. Fun and colorful! 6/10

Holiday Crackers, Beryl and Graham Peters

Liberty, 603 pieces. Large-size pieces worked really well with this image. 3/5

Gasworks

Bewilderness, 140 pieces. Older/strip cut, with some burn marks--the geometric cut is much better.

Margie Crisp, Early Spring in the Basin

Liberty, 512 pieces. Another custom Texas puzzle, I think. Nicely done. 3/5

a rare motorcycle whimsy

gassing it up

Botanica Moths, Rae Ritchie

Elms, 396 pieces. Really impressive border/dropouts, and an image that keeps you working throughout. 7/10

Corner of the Garden

Stave, 385 pieces, from a Renoir painting. As with many impressionist images, this one makes a great puzzle because of the flow of colors that only reveal their distinctions and their relationships as you assemble it. 6/10

part of a long flower chain

beehive

A Texas Parade, Hightower Suttle

Liberty, 519 pieces. I assume this was custom/limited for some Texas entity--it's got a lot of cattle-themed whimsies. 3/5

Surf Weekend Away, Deborah Broughton

Elms, 421 pieces. Fun colors! 6/10

Let it Snowman, Dee Rogers

Misfit Creations, 52 pieces. This is a teaser-style puzzle that is not for the faint of heart. There were times when I was frustrated because the snowflakes are similar enough that a lot of trial and error is required. But it won me over because, eventually, a pattern emerged, and also the fits were just so appallingly clever--I won't show the whole thing, but imagine me saying "Seriously?!" for the closeups when I found them. 7/10
