About my ratings

Perhaps because of my day job, I'm a tough rater. Everything 3/5 and above I consider worth the time and money. If I purchase on Etsy or a similar platform and the puzzle is as expected, I will give a top rating on the platform because of how seller ratings work, but here "as expected" is probably a 3/5 in most cases.

Flying Cows & Polar Bears

DaVici, 65 pieces & 100 pieces respectively. Cute little puzzles; the polar bears are particularly well-done with lots of themed whimsies and color-line-esque cutting. 3/5

Lights of Life

Stave, 270 pieces. Another colorful Judaica puzzle, with some custom pieces (Chicago's Bean, I believe). 7/10

rebus: lei + H_eye+M
bean and candle

shofar-blower--it is *a* Jewish holiday, after all

Let Freedom Wing

Stave, 130 pieces. Another difficult and fun teaser. I loved the different eagles, nests, etc. 8/10

Ginger Jar with Tassels

Anne Belle Thompson, 156 pieces. This image worked well for the cutting style and the unusual gold foil was a nice touch. 3/5

Night on the Town

Stave, 435 pieces. This is a nice image from an artist whose work Stave has several examples of; my daughter did the first chunks and I finished. 6/10

foal + moo+N

telescope (obscured by shadow; lighting options not great)

raccoon fishing and some tricky mini dropouts

Tree of Life

Stave, 100 pieces. Listed as a Three-Sword Teaser, I would have rated it a bit harder for all the challenge of the branches. A lot of fun. 8/10

Mandala Effect

Loubud, 74 pieces. Nice and fun with the colors making for some difficulty despite the low piece count. 3/5

Sweets and Treats

Stave, 214 pieces. A three-heart Treat, though I'm honestly not clear how different this is from a Traditional. 6/10

In a Flurry

Stave, 150 pieces. A three-sword Teaser with very similar pieces, making for a fair amount of trial and error, but ultimately quite satisfying. 7/10

Pause for the Claus

Stave, 120 pieces. Three-sword Teaser with lots of elves and a Stave clown who fits, but not in pattern. 6/10

Tubby Time

Stave, 345 pieces. Randomly selected from the Traditional offerings--this featured several charming rubber duckies and a wonderful irregular edge. 6/10
