About my ratings

Perhaps because of my day job, I'm a tough rater. Everything 3/5 and above I consider worth the time and money. If I purchase on Etsy or a similar platform and the puzzle is as expected, I will give a top rating on the platform because of how seller ratings work, but here "as expected" is probably a 3/5 in most cases.

Map of London

Liberty, extra large pieces, 249 pieces.  This is one of those puzzles where I'm not sorry I conducted the experiment of trying the extra large pieces, but I'm now satisfied and won't need to do it again.  The pieces are basically the same as ordinary Liberty pieces, including the whimsies, just larger. 3/5

Changing the Guards

Wentworth, 228, extra difficult cut.  I swear this came with a missing piece--I turned the entire room upside down to no avail.  Anyway, the piece is in an all black section so it only caused aesthetic damage.  3/5

A Lasting Impression, Susan Greenleaf

90 pieces, Stave. A beautiful Treat puzzle that has just the right amount of challenge.  7/10 Stave scale.

Surprised! Storm in the Forest, Henri Rousseau

Puzzlewood, 522 pieces.  I love this cutter, so I took a chance on a more push-fit cut than I usually prefer.  Turns out it was too push-fitty for me, but them's the breaks.  Still a highly recommended cutter; this one just wasn't to my taste.  3/5

Geoffrey Gersten, In Dreams

Artifact, 116 pieces.  Geometric pieces with a few whimsies; not as hard as the other similarly-cut Artifact I just reviewed because the picture gave a lot more clues.  2/5 (just for being tiny).

Rachel Pedder-Smith, Herbarium

79 pieces, Artifact. Very difficult despite the small size--I preferred the bean-shaped connectors on the other, larger Pedder-Smith puzzle by Artifact, but this one is no slouch.  4/5

All Cats, Puzzlewood

297 pieces. Another delightful puzzle with lots of dropouts and tricky adjacent bits.  5/5
