About my ratings

Perhaps because of my day job, I'm a tough rater. Everything 3/5 and above I consider worth the time and money. If I purchase on Etsy or a similar platform and the puzzle is as expected, I will give a top rating on the platform because of how seller ratings work, but here "as expected" is probably a 3/5 in most cases.

The Battle of the Granicus, 17th C. tapestry by Jean Jans the Younger

Liberty, 608 pieces.  This is an old puzzle, old enough that Liberty doesn't seem to be making it anymore.  Very unusually for a Liberty, the edges are irregular--merely straight-ish--and that's by design, tracking the shape of the tapestry.  In addition, there are a number of large multi-piece whimsies, knights on horses (and a dragon).  The colors are muted and sometimes challenging.  The pieces were old enough for some chips to have occurred but that didn't interfere with the puzzling experience.  3/5
