approx. 75 pieces. This unusual puzzle has beautiful wood. It's set in a thick tray. I confess that it wasn't my favorite type on a construction level--the different kinds of wood did not quite match up the way I love in wooden puzzles. But it is a beautiful and unique piece. The woods: wenge, maple, arariba, and lacewood, with silver and tiger eye accents.
