About my ratings
Perhaps because of my day job, I'm a tough rater. Everything 3/5 and above I consider worth the time and money. If I purchase on Etsy or a similar platform and the puzzle is as expected, I will give a top rating on the platform because of how seller ratings work, but here "as expected" is probably a 3/5 in most cases.

Gustav Klimt, Ritratto di Signora Klimt
445 pieces, Liberty. A profusion of colors that look different assembled than apart was the charm of this one. 4/5

Hi Rebecca, I'm so glad I found your blog. Beautiful puzzles here. I'm also a fan of wood puzzles. What do you do with all those puzzles after you assemble them? Do you keep them and keep doing them again every now and then? I've been keeping mine for now (I went back to puzzle-solving recently, after a 30-year hiatus. But not sure what I'll do when my collection gets too big. I'll probably sell some on eBay. Let's be in touch!
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't see this until now! I do use eBay for some puzzles, and it's a good place to buy/sell Liberty puzzles in particular. I'd love to get in touch with more puzzlers!
ReplyDeleteHow do you like the Liberty puzzles compared to Wentworth and Artifact? I've never tried Liberty, but I noticed that Wentworth has a finer cut, so the gaps between pieces is way smaller than Artifact. That causes the puzzle to look nicer when finished.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, Liberty is the best of the three in terms of intricacy of cutting. They have different strengths--a good Artifact isn't just tough, it's actually witty in the patterns of pieces and the whimsies. Whimsies will have some relationship to the puzzle. Liberty and Artifact usually have some picture-specific or at least picture-related whimsies, but they reuse whimsies too. It's not a huge deal for me because the overall puzzle is different each time, which is why I put Liberty at the top. Wentworth also has a few repeating shape puzzles which I like a fair amount for the extra difficulty.
DeleteInteresting! I'll ask my friend Cathy if she has any Liberty puzzles. If not, I'll keep my eye out for one on eBay. Thanks so much and please keep the puzzles coming! Your blog is very nice. ;)
